RO Booster Pump
Wow! I just installed and booster pump and didn't know what I was missing!! It used to just barely trickle out and take forever to fill my 25g storage tank. Now it's POURING out! My household water pressure is horrible and the pressure gauge on the RO would read about 20-30PSI before. I just put the Aquateck 6800 on my 75GPD system and the pressure is at 55PSI and doing GREAT!
Why didn't I do this a couple years ago??? I also hope it gives me better water now that the RO membrane can perform as designed. I was 0 TDS before, but I'm sure the quality will still be better now.

One other benifit is that you will get about 1:1 waste water to clean water instead of the 4:1, or maybe worse with your low pressure. Although I am not sure why this is the case, just what I read.

With membranes more pressure the better, I run mine between 80-100psi
I would still run the ratio of 4/1 unless you have soft water, than 3/1 would be ok. Its this ratio that keeps the membrane clean My feed water is hard and TDS around 700ppm and after the membrane i get 12-14ppm Spectrapure has a UHE RO/DI system that can run 1/1 but its expensive $900 http://spectrapure.com/AQUARIUM/RO-D...D-RO-DI-System Last edited by azjohnny; 02/13/2014 at 07:08 PM. |
