Is hanging necessary???
I have a 40b that I'm building up and want a sps dominate mixed reef. I purchased the 6 bulb Aquatic Life fixture for it. Tank is only roughly 16" tall so I was wondering if it's safe to just run this unit on the legs provided or do I have to hang it?? If so, about how far off the top is recommended? Thanks

My friend runs his ATI T5HO 6 bulb on his 20L only like 6" off the water and he has mostly sps and they grow awesome! The 20 is only 12" tall so I doubt you would have an issue. Try it out. If it starts bleaching coral then hang it.

Lol...yeah 6 bulb on a 20 I would def hang. These come with legs that raise it up about 3-4". And yeah the ATI is a awesome fixture for sure
