Apex AquaController System
So is it worth the investment... How would you rate this controler?

you can do anything you want with this controller. Personally, I'd say it's the best on the market.

For sure. The Best. But in my experience if you have a lot of corals you should buy a backup controller mine broke down 3 times in a year. Sent it back 3 times. Just lost some corals this time again.

I've never had a problem with my Apex. But if you have the extra money to buy a backup, then you should.
As I suggest to everyone, you should buy a belkin bu3dc001-12v. It plugs straight into the Apex's main module and provides backup power (4+ in my experiences) in the event of a power loss. You will continue to get readings from your temp/pH probes, as well as, prevent temporary outages from effecting your main module. Temporary outages can cause surges/brownouts that can kill your Apex's main module. |

I wouldnt ever run a tank with out a controller. If money is a problem the older models r great too just not as many bells and whistles but will keep the tank just as good

I got my Apex about a week ago (literally) and already I'm in love with it. I want to buy it an expensive dinner, walk it on a moonlit beach, and drop to one knee in front of and tell it I can't imagine my life without it. My wife is the only thing standing in my way of my true happiness!
The pump is the heart, plumbing is circulatory system, fuge is liver, etc...... Apex is the brain. |

Unless you run a bean animal overflow the chances of overflow fail will happen. Add a breakout box and a couple of float switches for peace of mind.
