Dead Hermit

Just found a dead hermit in my tank without a shell. Does this mean one of the other ones killed him and took his shell?

Molts are sometimes very difficult to distinguish from dead or live crabs. If one crab is sitting very still for days, don't disturb it in any fashion. They do this when their shell is soft.

I didn't know this either. Two of mine just molted today, and then I see this. I think the one that didn't molt evicted one that did.
