Bean Animal Question..?
Can I do this set up with out put in the t's and a 90..? I only have room to put a straight stand pipe in my over flow box...the elbow are to big...with it work the same with a straight pipe..?

yes, you are talking about an internal overflow box right? not an external?
This should work fine, you should try to turn the double elbow as much as possible so it isn't directly over the main siphon, it might cause the siphon to suck air or some other weird interaction. |

k...yes it is and the corners are slanted so it is hard to fit them in

So if I where to do it this way...how far down would the main drain be...(dose it matter)..?

The siphon line should be a good 6 inches under the water level. the emergency should be slightly below the water level in the display tank, the open channel should be 1/2 and inch below the emergency.
You want the emergency to only kick on at the last minute but before the water in the display starts to rise. You want the Open channel height below the emergency but above where the water flowing through the overflow starts making noise from the fall. The open channel needs to be a bit deeper to prevent air bubbles from getting in. If you are crunched for space the elbows are not absolutley needed, but they do help keep the open channel quiet. With a small bit of flow and a straight vertical drop the noise will be so small anyway. If it's noisy open up the siphon more. |
