Help: Which bulbs to use?
So before I start adding anything into my tank I want to get my lighting sorted so its ok for corals. At the moment I just have 2 T8's, which came fitted to the tank hood(Fluval Roma125), and I will be adding 2 T5's. The T5's will be either side of the T8's with a reflector.
Anyways, to the bulbs! I want my tank to be slightly bluish in colour, but not too over the top blue. Would It be best to have the 2 T5's white and the 2 T8's blue? Or 1 T8 blue and 1 white, and 1 T5 blue and 1 white? Also, what's the best bulbs and where to buy them? Thanks. |

The t8s are pretty pointless. I'd switch everything out and fit 4 T5s in there. Make sure you include some fans to cool them down as well.

For now I'm thinking 2x Arcadia Marine White's for my T5's, and then 2x Marine Blue Actinic's for my T8's. Then when I can, convert my T8's into T5's and have 2x Marine Blue Actinic's. Would this be alright until I can convert?
