Hermit Shell Hitchhiker?

Alright, this thing is way too small for anything that I have to get an accurate picture of. But, there is a small, brown tube that looks like an ice cream cone at Dairy Queen (best way I can think of to describe it) that is on one of the spare hermit shells I brought home yesterday and I just noticed whatever is in that thing had grabbed a renegade piece of frozen mysis and was chowing down on it.

Any idea what this could be? Should I pull it out of my aquarium?

Edit: Looks like it has a long strand of something cast out from the tube.

Think it was a vermetid snail. Grabbed the offending shell and threw it in the trash.
