Ozone, GAC, & HLLE

This is regarding a 120 sps dominant.
I am currently running my Poseidon ozone generator on "1" for about 3 hours every night into skimmer, and GAC in a reactor (not tumbling). I only change the GAC once every couple months and always rinse with rodi thoroughly. 2 tangs reside in the tank and have developed moderate hlle, all other fish are fine.

Can I remove the GAC and continue ozone? Ozone dosage seems very low, and hlle seems attributed to GAC commonly. Can I continue ozone safety with no GAC?

What do you feed them on a weekly basis? Are they older tangs?

3-4 years.

I feed a variety of pellets 2x daily, Larry's 4-5 weekly and nori on a clip 2x weekly. I have tried nori soaked in selcon daily for a few weeks with no change. I do not think it is nutrition related.

I run ozone without GAC with no ill effects. Have for years.

I run about 4 cups of GAC in a Reactor and 500mg/hr of Ozone 24/7.

I have 9 Yellows, 1 purple, 1 Chevron, 2 blue and no issues

I don't think GAC will cause this in every case, not sure what the exact situation is that causes hlle. I will start cutting back flow through the reActor and see if things improve.

I feed my tangs nori every day, I would make that a part of their daily diet. I don't think its the ozone.

Mine go through a full sheet of two little fishes nori a day.
