New live rock, dead isopods in the rubble

As the title says, 30 lbs of LR arrived today, two dead isopods (95% certain they are the bad kind... but I'll take pics when i'm home) were in the rubble. Along with 10 or so ruby mithrax crabs, some other critters...

Whats the best way to ensure no isopods get into the tank without sacrificing the good guys in the rock? I suppose the safest bet is to QT for 6 months with no fish... but is there a better way?

There's not really a better way to my knowledge. If you are just setting up a new tank you could put the rock on there and then pull the nasties out before adding fish, but it'd be much easier to do that in a QT than a DT.

Yeah the tank is new but cycled and unless they just aren't hungry there are no fish parasites in there now (fish been in there for months). So I guess, a good long QT and then a "test fish" in the QT to see if it is attacked by anything?

That's what I would do, although I doubt a test fish would be needed, anything in there will show itself eventually, just make sure you remove what you don't want as and when you see them.
