Need help......glass or acrylic

I am looking to purchase my first big tank. I was going to buy glass until I recently read here that a few people were springing leaks or having complete tank failures. I know that acrylic is stronger but will scratch easily. Glass looks better and seams to be easier to clean without scratching it. I live in California where we have earthquakes and I want to know what tank would be the safest to have in my house. What do you guys think?

If your main concern is the safest tank to have in the event of an earthquake, I would take a read through this thread from a few years ago.

If a 120g is what you are looking for then glass is your best option since there are many tanks made in that size, all of those being glass. Glass will also be cheaper and not scratch like acrylic will. Downside to that is weight of the tank. Glass is common up to 265g, after that acrylic makes more sense

Current Tank Info: 625g, 220g sump, RD3 230w, Vectra L1 on a closed loop, 3 MP60s, MP40. Several QTs

For a 120 glass for sure. I would go eurobraced starfire glass.
