Need Some Ideas

I'm currently trying to figure out how to hang my 36" 6 bulb ATI Sunpower fixture over my 65g tank. My plan is to suspend it with 3/4" black pipe that is going to be primed and painted over to help minimize any rusting, and it will be secured to the back of the stand.

Concept like this, with the pipe going behind the tank down to the floor and attaching to the stand...

Where I need help is figuring out how to attach the cables from the light fixture to the pipe. I like how easily the ATI hanging kit adjusts, but the kit is meant to be suspended from the sealing or drywall...

I tried to look at a picture of the kit and I can't tell how exactly it is orgionally suppose to be hung..But, in the pipe that you are talking about you could just drill holes the same as if you where going to hang from the sealing maybe?? or use small hook long enough to go all the way through the pipe. that have threads on them and bolt the hooks to the pipe.

Thanks for the idea, I'll have to keep it in mind. Might have to dig around and see if I have anything I can use to drill through the metal piping.

I would like to hang the fixture from the ceiling, but my dad is against drilling into the walls or ceiling because if we move or no longer want what we drilled the hole for, we will have the hole and have to patch things up.

I used plant hanging hooks from the big box store, just leave them to hang plants on.

Dads are like that it's two 1/4 inch holes. In the ceiling use white hardware.

The house I used to live in I put 2 huge metal shelf brackets for this purpose and they looked hideous when I left.
