Good idea with the magnets. did you still use a hinge or are the magnets strong enough to hold the cabinet door?

Just wondering about your extensive use of 45 degree elbows. Are two 45 degree elbows better than one 90 degree?

An opinion....if it's not yet wet...consider plumbing in some true unions at some critical points (i.e. at the pump, just below drains and return entry/exits to tank) as it will make it far easier to disassemble for updates and upgrades. As it stands, should you upgrade your sump, need to move the tank for some reason or want to paint your sump compartment, the only choice you'll have is to use the hack saw. I have true unions just under both drains, both returns and above my pump. I can essentially remove all piping from my sump compartment in five minutes. This makes repairs, thorough cleaning or other tasks much more convenient.

Thats a great point Rob which I failed to think of till u brought it up. Fml. This was the first time I ever did Plumbing. I will see if i can fit the unions in under the drains and returns. Dam...

I always thought 90's were not good to use so I thought 45's were better.

I originally set my tanks up w/o unions and had to cut the plumbing apart when I moved.
I discovered these at lowes.

http://www.lowes.com/pd_23943-34146-...t=pvc+coupling

They are way cheeper than conventional unions. Plus no solvent required. They also allow for some misalignment, and they help absorb some vibration.

Thanks for the helpful info but I already bought the unions from Home Depot. I have a small amount of space to fit the unions.
