Green Hair or Bryopsis. Do you use RO/DI water?

The first pic looks like chaeto. Are the strands firm and free floating? Or is it attached to the glass or rock? My chaeo is kinda firm and doesn't really attach to anything. It just floats around in the refugium.

It is hair algae (not bryopsis). There are many species of hair algae, not all of them are soft and slimy.

People use razors on glass tanks all the time so you should be good, just make sure all of the lubricating/packing oils are off the blade first

Be careful around the edges too. Razor blades and silicone don't get along to well.

Get some plastic razor blades. They come in handy for all sorts of things and they won't tear up the silicone or scratch the glass.
