Water perfect corals aren't opening

I upgraded from a 37 gallon to a 110 gallon tank with sump.

I went cheap and decided to let everything cycle and not change out 50% of the water. After all the numbers looked good I started transferring some coral over.

Since then I did a 50% a week and a half ago and some corals opened up. I did another 25% yesterday.

So far these corals look healthy: duncans, bubble, xenia, lots of Zoas

What I can't get: torch, frogspawn, hammerhead

They are all out just a little bit but for example my torch is hardly extended.

Magnesium 1380
Calcium 500 ppm
Alk 11dkh 196ppm
7.8 ph
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 0
Phosphate 0
Water temp: 79

Thanks for helping!

Keep doing water changes. But dont do 50% changes, its too much too fast and should really implicated in an emergency. Do 5% 2x a day for 5 days to a week, and i bet you find the results fantastic by day 3 or 4.

are you testing the water...if so, what are the results

Make sure Temp, SG, Alk and Ph are as close as possible before changing any water.

and sometimes it just takes a few days\weeks for some corals to get comfortable to the new tank conditions, even though you used much of the same water, etc, it still is a new environment to them.

yah i agree on water changes % being too high, 30% per month is a very acceptable number which can be broken down to 15% per every 2 weeks or 7% per week or 1% per day as hobbyist desires.
Give corals sometime to get used to the new tank and lights etc.
