Ozonator?
Hi folks, I have an older ozoninator that can with a tank. Not sure if it works. Not sure how you tell other than the bubbles. I understand that it is used in air and water purification. Does it doe different sanitation than UV?
But, does it really do anything for reef tanks? Experiences? |

Would you use this in place of a skimmer, or in addition to? And would you put this in the sump or DT? I kinda think the bubbles could look cool in the DT depending on how it worked out.

Ozone is used for the same general purpose as UV. Ozone however comes with greater risk as to much ozone will cause health issues. It would be used in the sump along with carbon and would be used in very small amounts.

You definitely wouldn't want to see the bubbles in the DT as that would not only poison your fish but you as well.

Ok thanks, I think I will leave this piece off for now. I am overloaded as it is for the moment switching from a 55G to a 250G tank.
The only good thing that I did, which was sort of luck at the last minute, was leave the 55G tank up. I took the water down, moved it, and then brought it back up. It is a LOT more crowded, but cleaning the HOB skimmer, and the mechanical and doing a water change every two weeks till I get the big tank sorted. |
