what led strip light to buy
I need some recomendation from guys who have used strip led lights to grow SPS corals succesfully. I need to light the front and back of my tank with a 24" wide strip light. the tank is 18" deep and 36" wide. I only want the strip light to light upto and area of 12" front to back. Whats the best light with most success? thanks

My final two after my research for a LED that was in the price/performance range I needed was the 48 from reef breeders and the Arctic T247 from Ocean Revive (2x of them on my 48" wide tank)
I was going to buy the Arctic but in the end I got a 48" from Reef breeders and very happy with it. Both seem good choices. |

Thanks guys... but perhaps I'm not calling the lights I'm looking for by thier correct name.. when I say stip lights I'm refering to much narrower versions of what you show...

I have used Ecoxotic LED strips. These are the only ones I have used so far, but they have worked well so far. DO NOT use the stunners. look into some of the mod kits.

Here is the link. take a look at the mods like I said. I think they are better than the base units.

With the form factor you're looking for, I think buildmyled is what you're looking for. I just put two 36" fixtures over a mostly LPS tank and am pretty happy with them so far. No long term experience with them, but I have no doubt they'd grow SPS just fine from what I'm seeing over my tank.

I just got some 36" Reefbar Pros from 21led. They are inexpensive and very bright. They do custom colors too. I haven't had them very long but I'm happy with them so far. I don't have any coral yet but the fish look happy.

DIY some strips with aluminum channel and rapid LEDs. Cheaper and superior by far.
