My wp25 died my 40 is still going strong though. Now I'm in the gray area for Jebao pumps do have quite a few lemons and on the other hand MP are just outrageously overpriced.
Hate to be in the gray area ![]() |

Alot of aquarium products will have small defects when they first come out. Older vortechs can possible get loud and sound terrible and the wet side will need to b replaced. Jebao controller may blow, after a defect is realized if it is fixed you really cant get mad. Toyotas gas pedals were getting stuck to the floor, lol they no longer have this problem. Bmw m3s chasis were litterally gettinf ripped apart and bmw wouldnt admit it. Theres a class action suite where they have to fix it for free tho. Im sure vortechs are made better, maybe they will last 20years, a jebao should last a few and then u can go and buy something newerr and cooler lol . I mean i can go on for days you all sound like children, sorry. My sc301 was 80$ and works just as good as a Bm 3.5. This is the way the world works now everybody get used to it. Chinease knock offs can be awesome, dont hate on them. Higher quality products will likely last longer, dont hate on them....
Anybody else have a problem with there jebao that has or hasnt been fixed because i would like real info without the 5th grade arguments |

Both of my WP 25's are still going strong after a year.
When did powerhead snobbery become a thing? Ive owned both Ecotech and Jebao. I sold the Ecotech's within 2 months because of the sound. Admittedly I got the very first run of mp 40's and they were very loud. I cant speak for the current versions. There is one thing for sure though nothing moves water like a Vortech. |

I've had my jebao wp40's(2) for I think 2 years now?
I've dropped one a couple times from about 4-5ft in the air.. I've banged them around.. I've cleaned them twice? I had one wrap up some fishing line and stop for a good week or so before I noticed.. I've run one of them out of water for a few seconds by accident.. Meanwhile they're still quiet, pretty sure they move the same amount of water as when they were new... Got the Joe Jakowski arduino controller now.. Can't believe I considered 5-600$ on a mp40... heh |

well count me into the realm of the unlucky. WP40 died after 4 months of use. Pulled it apart and the magnet on the impeller was making my hands black just handling it. WP10 still working though. Just ordered a MP40 so I'll let you know how they directly compare. The price is shocking but because this tank is at my business I can expense it, so its not as painful. For once I would like to be a lucky one that cuts a corner on my tank and gets away with it. Loved the pump while it was working.

First week with MP-40. It is a bit louder then the WP but only when its on full speed. The modes are better and control is better on the MP. Wave intensity and duration much more adjustable and Reef Crest and TSM do kick the corals around in all of the tank better then the Jebao in "else". Seems not to matter where you put the vortex as much as the Jebao had to be positioned just right. Reef Link is awesome! I happen to have a gen 2 radion and setting it to create storms during the day and calm at night is cool. All that said, If the jabeo did not die so quickly, say if I got 18 months out of it, I would say the jabeo is the best value. But for only 4 months of use and very visible corrosion/disintegration of the impeller magnet I did not feel comfortable getting another one. Even though I could have with the warranty. Hell China paints kid's toys with lead so who knows what they made that magnet from. Will see how well the vortec holds up.

If you can support it better than the sticky zip tie anchor you can run the pin spacer to the next thinnest setting. It will quiet it down considerably. Silent in some cases.
