Micro bubbles
I have been noticing micro bubbles in the display tank, since adding salt. I have a bubble trap in the sump but they make it to the pump...I had high flow going to the system but have since reduced flow to reduce the bubbles.
My question is around the main drain pipe. I have it running full depth of the sump, it's on the bottom, with a 45* cut at the bottom. Is the drain the problem? Would drilling holes or raising the exit level in the sump improve the bubble situation? |

The micro bubbles are more likely coming from your skimmer rather than your drain.

Some people put a J on the bottom of there drainpipe for this reason. I have it on my frag tank and it got rid of the bubbles and the gurgling.
