Took some par measurements today. Very good numbers from the ATi fixture (not surprising though)

Par readings (100% on T5s and LEDs)
All powerheads were turned off

ATi Hybrid Powermodule 48” 8 Ts / 3 75w LEDs
8" above the tank, 9" above surface of water

3 LEDs (LEDs set to blue / aqua blue in ATi software)

48” T5s running

B+
B+
Coral Plus
B+

Measurements

Surface in center:
T5: 83 (415 par)
LEDs: 105 (630 par)
All: 191 (1050 par)

8” below water line, center of tank
T5: 83 (415 par)
All: 143 (786 par)

10” below water line, off center below T5s
T5: 64 (320 par)
All: 97 (533 par)

15” below water line, off center below T5s
LEDs: 20 (120 par)
All: 66 (363 par)

10” below water line, front of tank
T5s: 45 (225 par)
All: 68 (374 par)

15” below water line, front of tank
LEDs: 15 (90 par)
All: 55 (302 par)

I'll try and add these figures to a fancy picture a little later.

I'm thinking about getting the 24" 8xT5 Led Powermodule, but would like to get some info from current owners/users. I'm reading conflicting information on whether or not it is required to "burn" the bulbs in for 40-50 hours. Also, does the fixture get really hot to the touch while in operation or just warm? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Burn the bulbs in for best longevity.

My 4 bulb fixture stays cool or slightly warm to the touch at all times.

You guys have some amazing tanks, especially with lighting provided by these ATI fixtures!

After reading through the entire topic, I will jump in as well (switching back from all LEDs...).
I just need a little push from you guys. For my new SPS tank measuring 47″ x 22.5″ x 20″, should I go with:

36" 2x75W LED & 8x39W - 34.3" x 20.4" x 2.4" (L x W x H)
48" 3x75W LED & 4x54W - 46.2" x 12.0" x 2.4" (L x W x H)
48" 3x75W LED & 8x54W - 46.2" x 20.4" x 2.4" (L x W x H)
I am leaning towards the 8 bulbs for the different T5 combos.

And could anyone with 36" or 48" fixture provide me with the measurement between those mounts?

Thanks in advanced.
Cheers.

Well it has been almost two months since having setup my ATI Hybrid and I must say that the results I've seen in such short time is far better than what I saw with my previous fixture.

Here, let me show you

Very nice growth and lovely! Thanks for sharing.

ReefRockerLive, after having the 36" 4T5s units for your 36" x 24" x 18", would you think the 8T5s may be better ?

Thanks all. I noticed a slight typo in my last post, I was suppose to write "Almost 3 months, not 2"

I have the following combo:
FRONT TO BACK:
ATI Blue+
ATI Coral+
ATI Purple+
ATI Blue+

MikeC120, PM me your email and I can send the program schedule. I don't know how to post a screenshot of my program.

lunner, I am totally satisfied with the 4 bulb unit. The light provides plenty of power for my acros, especially for ones not under the light. 8 bulbs would be too much heat, power, and costly bulb replacement. I'd say the 8 bulb units are more for tanks that are 30" or wider.

For you 80w fixture owners, has anyone recieved the retrofit to prevent the acrylic shield from sagging?

I saw this post from reefgeek over on the ATI Fixture thread, which leads me to believe there's finally a solution:

The Powermodule LED hybrid comes with an additional piece bolted to the fixture. It's not a clip, and it isn’t offered currently on any other model. Also after looking at the fixture, I am not sure this could be done as a retro to existing fixtures due to the drilling and tapping of the fixture to mount necessary to mount the piece.

I have passed a message along to ATI as well to see if there are any future plans for a clip type for the device.
