Cracked and chipped tank, need advice.
Looking for some opinions,
I recently bought a used Leemar 120 eurobraced off of another forum. I've had it out in my garage while working on cleaning it out. I haven't had a chance to work on it the last week because of the 100+ temperatures we've had in California recently. Well, today when I went to go work on it, I noticed that a crack had developed on the upper right side of the front pane. ![]() ![]() There is not a gouge on the outside or inside as it may look like it the pictures. There is also a chip on the bottom right of the front pane. It had been there when I bought it, but it was not significant, it seems to have climbed up slightly. It is not cracked. ![]() I have been moving the tank around a bit and have had it up on it's side to work on it. I didn't hit it or bump into it at all, I'm thinking it may have been the temperature fluctuations that have made the crack appear. My question is, is this something that I can or should repair? If not, how much would it be to get the front pane replaced? Thanks |

I am not an expert, but a crack in the glass is bad. How big is the crack? I think you will have to replace the glass.

glass can withstand temperature changes very well, its very rapid changes that cause trouble. I doubt the temp slowly rising to 100 degrees then back down over the course of hours would cause the corner to crack.
