MTC HSA-3000 vs LIFEREEF 72"

Hey guys so for a 600 gallon tank, which of these would you prefer? Anyone seen both in action?

Life reef 72" model

Mtc hsa 3000

Thanks!

I think either one would work. I've not used the HSA3000, but have used the HSA1000, and it is a very nice skimmer. I now use the MTC dual mazzei-based recirculating skimmer, and actually prefer it to the HSA. They make a six mazzei model, though I'm sure they would customize anywhere in between based on your needs, so that's where I'd go.

Call MTC. As the poster above said, look at their venturi recirculating skimmers. It isn't on their site yet. I have had their HSA-1000 and their dual venturi recirculating skimmer and I like the venturi better.

I have owned both MTC and Lifereef and the MTC quality is much better in terms of workmanship and materials.

How much does the dual venturi skimmer cost?
Do you have any pics?

Take a look at the Lifereef thread. I posted a couple of pictures. Also look at Ca1ore's "Bucking the skimmer trend" thread. He has one.

The skimmer goes for $1000. It is a few bucks less than the Lifereef 72" and you get more skimmer performance and better quality.

In terms of materials and workmanship, it is like comparing Bubble King to Reef Octopus etc.

MTC is made in NJ and their customer service is excellent.
