Skimmer foam too thick ?

After of a year of functioning fine, for the last several weeks the foam on my skimmer seems to be thick and persistent. Instead of settling and forming liquid in the collecting chamber, it clogs holes on top, seems to push top up until air can vent. Any thoughts on what might be causing this ?

Have you tried skimming a little wetter? On the bright side, at least you know it's pulling junk out of your tank.

(Sorry I was away for a few days)
What do you mean by"skimming wetter" ? There is only one adjustment on the skimmer "max to min" is wetter max or min ?

The water level in the sump is a constant, hasn't changed in a year.

Yeah it looks very high though. How many inches is your skimmer submerged?

Wet skimming is when you increase the water level in your skimmer to produce a skimmate that is wetter. That said, yours looks OK to me.

The water level in the sump is a constant, hasn't changed in a year.
The tall white pipe on the side of the skimmer controls the exit flow from the skimmer. If you reduce the exit flow then your skim will be wetter. On mine MAX is the the maximum exit flow.
So decrease the flow (Move towards Min) and the skim mate will become more wet.

Water level plays a part in quality of skim. If you're unable to adjust the sim with the flow rate adjustment? Then you will need to either Raise or lower your skimmer unit.
This can be done by building a platform using "Egg Crate" and some zip ties.
