White foamy crap
My apologies if this is addressed elsewhere - I searched and couldn't find.
I have some white foamy stuff, almost looks like spray insulation, growing out of my overflow. WTH is it and how do I do I get rid of it?? photo.JPG |

Is it slimy? crusty? firm yet soft? does it smell? did it appear all at once, or did it take time to get this big?
can you clean it off, or does it grow back? What do you keep in your tank? Could this be the remnants of something that died? Bottom line, I have no idea. I'm just trying to get a better idea what it is that I'm looking at..... |

It looks like a sponge to me, a harmless filter feeder. It's also possible it is a bacteria mass, a better photo would help.
