AI Vega Questions
So after taking a break from the hobby for awhile I decided to purchase a IM 40 Gallon Fusion tank. I decided to go with 1 Vega color on this setup and I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction in regards to AWOL mounting, color and intensity options. I have read quite a bit but nothing very specific Dimensions of the tank are as followed.
•DIMS (24” x 20” x 19”) Any infrormation would be greatly appreciated. |

I believe AI recommends 9" above water line. As far as color and intensity do a search that's been discussed ad nasuem on here. The best advice I can give is to start very low and increase intensity slowly (like 20 to 25% then 1 or 2% a week.) Otherwise you'll burn your corals. Placement in the tank is key too. These lights are *incredibly* 'spot - lighty' - PAR drops off very quick with the standard lenses. Put corals that can handle it right under the middle and then fan out the rest of your corals. Watch out for shaded areas they’ll get little to no light at all.
I ended up supplementing my with two t-5s.

Ok great I appreciate it from what I have read the cover 24x24 I will start out at 20% on the whites and 30% on blues and royal blues. I have heard that the reds promote alge has anyone else heard this?

you might want to check but i thought the vega was no longer being made.dont quote me on that but i was just looking at LED fixtures and was considering the vega or hydra.as of now the hydra is my choice.
