Maxi jet 400 trouble shoot

Bought maxi jet 400 for ATO.

It rated 29" upward but it only push up to 16".

The ATO and tank is approx 25" upward

Is there an adjustment flow inside ??

The hose is 1/2" ID

Any tips will be great!

Thanks
Jake

There's no adjustment at all.. It is what it is but it should push higher than 16".. are you sure you have the volute seated properly? Have you tried to re-assemble just to rule that out?

Maxijet 400 won't move water 2' vertical. What you are experiencing is ime typical.

Yeah, it's all good .

What pump do you recommend ? It's for ATO , I don't want ATO to full blast into tank I like a bit slow.

Thanks

Use the bigger model of MJ(new models are not as good as original mj's) or switch to their replacement(Cobalt) and go with the 1200. I used this for my ATO and it could go over 3' vertical without any issue.

I use one of these. It would also require a pump head which can usually be had between $35 and $100
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Masterflex-L...item4d1e135b3d

I got mine out of a trash can at least 5+ years ago because the guy using as an ATO pump said it was "old". I plan on using it for the foreseeable future. I believe he started using it as an ATO pump in '98. 16 years new, buy once.

What I like about them is you can size them to flow exactly what you want through a combination of the speed of the drive (non adjustable) and the tubing size. I have mine (12rpm model) set where it runs about 30% of the day to keep up. If it were somehow bypass the dual float switches and overcome the float valve it would take days for the sump to overflow.

Well, a friend highly recommended me to get replacement parts for aqualifter it's only 2.39ish from BRS.

http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/aqua-l...aphragm-1.html

I did and it surprised me it's working really WELL!! I was told to replace inside parts every year or till you notice it's starting slow down flow.

Heck $2.39 is sweet.

I now uses maxi jet 400 for salt mix

Thanks
