I have a pair of Matted Filefish.
Very interesting couple, they are all over the tank together. I wish they'd eat more dang Aiptasia, though. |

What do you consider a large tank for a school of anthias?

Assuming you mean 'large enough', then your 265 is plenty of tank for 8 -10. I have 8 in mine (40 fish total).

With the proper equipment (ATO, lighting) and maintaing water params, I do not see why you cannot keep some of the hardier anemones. I put a RBTA in my 240 that has been only running for a little over a month (cycle complete) and have not had any issues. By the way, it did split once I added it to my tank. I now have them doing well. |

I have kept 11 anthias and 10 chromis in my 180. Before that they were in my 90. I think it's hit and miss with schooling fish

I doubt they meant isopods. They don't really crawl around like copepods and amphipods. I'm guessing they meant amphipods.
Not all isopods are bad though. I used to have a couple small ones in my tank that never bothered my fish. (Doesn't mean I let them stay in the tank though! ) They're fast little swimmers, seem to be very aware of movement around them, and difficult to catch. |
