Hitchhiker? Aiptasia?
I see this thing out every morning when I turn on the lights, but after a while it retreats back into the hole. Its body is clear with a red tube in the middle, and the tentacle things hanging out. Tank is a 14 gallon biocube with 17 lbs live rock, been cycling for 3 weeks now.

It looks like Aiptasia to me. If you disturb it does it dash back into it's hole?

a syringe with boiling water will allow you to take care of it without disturbing anything else. You may need to add an extension in the form of a piece of rigid airline tubing to the syringe. stick it right in it and cook the little bugger. IME, 100% effective without adding anything (chemical) to your tank.

What billdogg said. I also had good luck with lemon juice but you don't want to be putting too much of that into the tank. Better if you can take the rock out first.
Boiling water is better if you must work inside the tank. Either way get rid of it. I recently saw a HUGE Aiptasia invasion at a local restaurant tank...Holy Wow! I don't want that happening in mine!
