Amphipods on my corals

Ive had a huge bloom of pods lately(my tank is 4-5months old and ive read after a view months its normal to see more and more pods). Ive uploaded pics and was told they are beneficial amphipods. I see them all over the tank and they are all over my coral frags, some of my frags look eaten and ive seen the pods right on top of the frag where it looks eaten.

Edit: snapped some pics to show it happening...

Do these pods eat corals?
Also is it normal for these pods to be so active during daylight hours?
