Brothers tank...

My brother has a Nano 20 gallon reef set up he started about two months ago. The tank has cycled and he just recently added a very large "live rock" and now he is experiencing a huge ammonia spike. Other than a bunch of water changes I didn't know what to do to remedy this...? Thanks in advance

The tanks probably gonna go through another cycle. Keep on the water changes, and make sure to rinse your rock in the future or keep it in water...

Before he experiences similar mini cycles all over again, if no livestock is in tank already, have him add all the rock he plans on having in the tank to get it over with. Tank should have nearly all your rock you plan on using from the get go. Unless you can get some good Cured live rock that shouldn't cause ammonia spikes from the die off. As far as remedies, I'd say time will be the best. It will just be another cycle (albeit probably shorter) until your rock stops throwing the parameters off.
