Question on live rock
I found a company out of Florida selling uncurred live rock 1.99 a pound. My question is if I start a brand new tank and use this uncurred live rock during the cycle process do I have to cure it or wil the cycle do that for me?

it'll do that for you. cured live rock = live rock with bacteria established in it. cycling a tank = letting bacteria establish in your rock and sand.

In all the readings, and posts I have seen. There could be a phosphate leaching problem depending on if it came from an inland quarry where there was lots of ground water. It could take up to 6-8 months for this stuff to leach out completely.
In the Moe book, states "buyer beware of cheap rock", and that by the time you get the rock "well done", you could have bought all new rock.

I got my rock from gulfliverock.com. There has been no issue with it, In the gulf one day and in the tank 2 days later. There was very little die off and the tank fully cycled in 10 days. Also came with a lot of nice macro algae and still finding critters.

I also purchased my rock from Dale. I am very happy with it. I did buy his premium rock though and had it shipped air cargo.
