Rhodactis mushroom question

I've got a very nice red ringed Rhodactis that came on an odd shaped rock that is too tall to place it properly and I'd like to remove it and let it attach to a large rock wall I have.

Is it as simple as sliding a razor underneath it to detach it? Suggestions?

Yes, then superglue it where you want it.

If it were me, I would see if you could chip a piece of the rock underneath it without removing the mushroom with a razor. That way you would have a small surface rock to glue it to the wall rock.

+1, the slime that they produce when cut off a rock can make them very difficult to super glue. It is much easier to glue them in place if you can gouge out a small piece of rock when you remove it. If you cannot get any rock off that the Rhodactis is attached to, you may need to place it in a small container with rubble rock and coarse sand grains. Cover the container with netting, after a few weeks the Rhodactis should attach itself to the rubble rock which in turn can be glued down where you want it.

+2

I like to use cheap wood chisels ( harbor freight) to break/chip live rock.
