Skimmer Upgrades for Precision Marine RL Line
Hello all,
I have a RL175 and RL225 that I want to upgrade the pumps on. I was wondering how to compare the RLP 2000 etc pumps to the other model lines. Anyone tried upgrading these skimmers before or have suggestions on what to do? |

So all the work I've done up until now has still failed to produce results on what the original pump is. The specs on the RL225, the one I'm most interested in upgrading:
It has an 8" diameter and is 27" tall. The original pump was 63 watts and is reputed to be similar to octopus brand pumps of the same design/era. Would i be able to use a sicce psk 1000? The diameter of things seems similar and the total dimensions of the cone are similar. Edit: Or on the budget side, maybe an atman 3000? |

Yes, they are similar to the OTP pumps that RO used on their skimmers. Why not convert it to a bubble blaster? Or a Sicce? You have many options.
BTW - How is the collection cup removed from those skimmers? I like those skimmers, especially the smaller necks on them.
