Depending on the wattage my 120w is about 10 inches up full blast.

Lots of factors to consider here so I wonder what the poll will actually tell you. I have my Vega about 14 or 16 inches off the water and only run it at about 40%, but my tank is only 12 inches deep.

Optics really effect how high the LEDs should be.

I have Ecotech Radions hanging about 10" off the water line. Works well for me.

depth to sandbed, water clarity, which light.....all very large factors to getting the setup right. i have 4 kessil A150W 10 in above my water. my sandbed is between 14 and 17 inches below the waterline. i also supplement with t5's also about 10 in above water.

Optics on the LED's dictates how high you have to have the light off the water to get full coverage.

I have mine 8" off the water with no optics(120 degree).

I have my Hydra 26 8" above the water line per recommendation from AI for my tank. They told me an employee there was running a 24x24x24 cube just like I have and for the past 4 months had been running the single Hydra 26 over it with great results.

I have to post my settings later on when I'm in front of the controller, can't recall off top of my head.
