Advice - 3 Ocellaris

Hi All,

So 4 months ago I made the mistake of buying 3 ocellaris. And now I need to fix it.

Everything started like a fairy tale where the three little guys were friends. One day, the female got a boyfriend and started to exclude the smallest guy from the pack (no constant aggression). This lasted around 2 months.

Two weeks ago out of the blue the pair got super aggressive and almost killed the little guy in a few hours. I was able to rescue before the worse happened.

I excluded him in a 2 gallon acrylic box inside my aquarium where I have nurtured him back to health. His fins have regrown and his skin sores are gone. He is eating like crazy again and now I need to find a permanent solution.

I have a 29 gallon oceanic biocube with and RBTA, some hammer heads and kenya trees.

My wife and I are really attached to him, so we want his best.

I live in a small apartment so my options are kind of limited, I wanted to get your feedback on what I planned out.

My idea is to buy a 5 gallon marineland contour and set it up 100% with rock, sand and water from the existing aquarium and just have that be his new home. He would be the only inhabitant. Do you guys think it's feasible? Would he be happy?

If a terrible idea, then probably I would explore the idea of looking for an experienced hobbyist in my area and donate the fish to that person.

I'd give it away or trade at LFS.
5g just won't do it, maybe trade for 3-4 gobies for the 5g.
It'll be a female soon.

Thanks. I'll try to find a new home from him.

In case I can't I'll bring to the LFS. That is my absolute last resource. As I would like to know he'll be in a good home.

If you have the space for a 5g, what about a 12g Fluval? I have one for my Betta on my kitchen counter and it takes up very little space, although I'm not sure if it would be alright to put a clown in a 12g tank or not. If you are attached to him, giving him to the LFS might not be a good idea. I would be worried that he would get sick or end up in a not so caring environment.
