Any thoughts on Eshopps skimmers?

Even New to the hobby I understand the need for a good protein skimmer. I like the eshopps because they use sicce pumps which shows me they are at least trying to make a good product. Any thoughts?

Aquamaxx are better. I've used both. I like AM skimmers over pretty much the entire field in their price range. The eshopps skimmers do work pretty well though. Never had a problem getting one to skim.

The Eshopps skimmers are not bad for the money, especially after changing to Sicce pumps. I had used them before, with the Atman pumps. They always were pulling lots of "crap" out, even on a young tank. The acrylic is not as thick as it should be, but that is why they warrant a lower price. I like the full bodied chamber, and always have. I run AquaMaxx EM series on my 90g and 150g for that very reason.

Here are a couple of pics of them in action -

I used a eshopps s-200 on my 210 gallon tank and it did a fine job for me. Had no problems with it, just decided to upgrade the size of my skimmer and to be honest I dont think my new one skims anymore then my old skimmer did.

The cones work very well. Nicely balanced. The water line to bubble line is nice and flat so you get a good bubble column.

+1

Agreed, similar experience here.

A bigger factor, with all skimmers, is getting them dialed in properly and having the proper water level in your sump if it is an internal skimmer.
