Copperband Butterfly
How would a Copperband Butterfly do being added to an established tank with 2 mated clowns and a powder blue tang? I got big aiptasia problems and love this fish anyway.

First, they do not always eat aiptasia (or sometimes anything at all) and may or may not be reef safe. The powder blue may or may not allow peaceful introduction. Best chance is the Australian endemic.

He tang will probably makes it's life miserable. I had one with a kole tang and finally had to remove it and take it back to the lfs.

Added mine with a well established bristle tooth and flame angel and it has done fantastic. Wiped out my aphasia and now has been eating enriched frozen mysis. Have not seen it touch any corals. But as others have said they can be hit or miss. I feel I got a good healthy specimen and got lucky it started eating

I will let you know how mine does in an established tank with tangs. Don't have any clown fish so will not be able to answer that one for you. Just added mine tonight after lights out. Will see how tomorrow goes.

Thanks all. I think I am going to go for it and get one. I need to get my quarantine tank up and cycling. I have just never had any luck with peppermints (I'll get them anyway though). Will copperbands eat full grown aiptasia? I've got at least 15-20 small ones in my DT but they are growing FAST!

My CCB has been in the 400 gallon tank for 5 days and not problems with purple, yellow or kole tang. CCB was actually a little aggressive towards some of the cardinal fish. He was shy at feeding time but is starting to get the hang of getting some food before the pigs in the tank eat it all.

I have been kepin g copperbands since the early 70s and so far none of them ate aiptasia. But I know some of them do as they live on worms in the sea and that is what they should be fed
