Red slime algae?
Hi!
I have noticed some red algae slime on a couple rocks. I use only RO/DI water. My water params are: ammonia nitrites nitrates: 0 temp: 78.8F PH: 8.2 Alk: 7dKH Ca: 440 Mg: 1440 I have some carbon and phosguard running in one of my canister filters. I have no fish and I feed my shrimp every other day. So no overfeeding. What could be causing it? its by no means a problem right now but I am concerned it could spread. Any thoughts? |

how long has the tank been running? If it is established then chemi-clean is hit or miss, people have had success with half the recommended dosage but watch your inverts. or try to vacuum it up during a water change. Regardless, keep your water parameters in check (i.e. phosphate) and check your top-off water for TDO levels.
good luck. |
