2 MP40's on Same tank wall while alternative flow

I have a 60x24x24 tank that will be seen mostly from the left and front side. My corner overflow will be on the right side and I estimate it to be ~5"in depth (Front to back) leaving about 19" left on the right side glass.

Can I mount 2 MP40's on the right side of the tank with a rock structure generally centralized and be able to alternate the circulation in my tank throughout the day?

I've heard one person say yes you can create alternating gyre flows and another person saying no, and that it will just push the flow from right to left.

Anyone with experience?
