Bright green algae
This started a while ago on small parts of my rock. It starting to grow on a lot more. Anybody know what type of algae or is it coraline?Almost looks painted on there. No type of hair or fuzzyness to it. i started out with brs dry rock with a few pieces of live rock. Cycled dry rock for 5 months in rubbermaid with ammonia, running gfo. My nitrates are 2ppm. Phos was .02. Tank has been up and running for 2 months.

I'm not sure what kind of algae that is exactly, but if it's hard to scrape from the rocks, it's most likey just a precursor to the purple coralline algae we all love so bad.

I think that's exactly what it is. Good work.

Definitely looks like green coralline algae which should be replace by the pink variety in short time

Thats what im wishing for. It started out yellow. Then started getting some green. Now its spreading to all rocks. There was 2 pieces of actual live rock i bought to help the cycle but after months in a dark rubbermaid it kinda turned just brown. Now that is starting to show some purple and red on it.
