RBTA Split!
My fancy RBTA is a clone from a fellow reefer's tank. It's just four months old and it split last night for the first time. I've spent most of the morning watching the 'parent' heal up and it's amazing how quickly it's happening. The 'daughter' is hanging under a nearby rock in the shade so I can't really see what's going on there but everything looks fine. What a fascinating process. Here is a picture of the unhealed mouth.

The 'mother' is actually contracting now, a few hours later, enough to expel poop from her newly healed mouth. Most of her tentacles are shrunken now.

It is cute because the daughter spent a great deal of time hiding under the rock and has now come out to be together. Very sweet.
