Maggot looking things in filter media and gfo reactor
So I'm doing a mass cleaning today and I discovered these maggot looking things in my gfo reactor and media cartridges. When I first saw them in the reactor I thought it was simply shrimp that got sucked during feeding. When I pulled out the cartridges is when I figured out whatever it is is deliberately there and multiplying. Any ideas?

Those look too light to be stomatellas.

Small pineapple sponges? I have a bunch of them in my sump, pencil-eraser up to almost thumb sized.

They don't look like the texture of sponges, they're literally like maggots, same size and everything. Found em housed in my pumps and filter as well.

They look like pineapple sponges to me to. I have them in my sump from a 1/8" to 1/2" long. I guess a good question is do they look like Q-tips with a little funny head on them? If so then then is what they are. How long has the tank been set up? From all of my tanks and looking at others they are the first sponges to take in your tank.

Tanks about 6-8 months old, I'm finally starting to find creatures I didnt put in there like this black slug thing I just found. No idea what it is either. Are pineapple sponges good? I got rid of all I could find cause it kind of creeped me out. |
