Sand recommendation
Starting a new tank. There are so many different sands to choose from. Which would you recommend and why? This will be a 150 gal mixed reef.

That depends. What party of FL are you from? FREE is the best kind (lol) , preferably aragonite, which I believe you can get towards the south... It's white and made of crushed corals, so it will regulate your pH and help boost your Ca levels. I just went through the same thing TODAY- I ended up buying oolitic aragonite from Petsmart for $22 for 30 lbs. Best deal I could find... Like I said, free is best!

Definitely nothing to fine, that stuff blows all over the place and if you are one that vacuumes your substrate then you'll end up sucking the stuff out.

I am starting a tank up, I was looking at live sand (a lot finer than aragonite) if I get the aragonite will the live rocks seed it?

I've used aragonite Oolite before and found it was good sand but a bit too fine, it was sometimes blown all over. I'm looking at this stuff but not sure about it. I don't know what "graded" means. Anybody use this?
