Protein skimmer overflow

I bought my reef octopus BH1000 HOB skimmer about a month ago and it worked fine for two weeks. Now the fill box fills up with water very quickly to the point where its full 20 minutes after I empty it. Last night the whole skimmer had water to the edge of the box and started to pour over after I tried taking water out. I unplugged it and let it empty and then re plugged it in and it filled to the top again and tried to overflow. HELP?

Adjust the water flow. It's turned up to high

Sorry for the short response. I did a quick search and found several other threads along the same line as yours. You have to adjust the height of your skimmer. Do you have a picture of where it's set

It should tell you in the directions how deep of water the skimmer should sit in. If it's to deep put it on some egg crate if it's not deep enough then the sump wall needs to be higher by the skimmer.

This is a hang on back skimmer. I had one and had to cut the inlet and outlet tubes off a bit the get them closer to the surface.
