question about using chemiclean

for those who have used this to treat their tank for cyano, is it necessary to siphon as much as possible before using or will it work as well if i leave some of the nasty patches on the sand bed?

the only reason i ask is because i fell a couple of weeks ago (i knew that chandelier in the ceiling wouldn't last forever ), broke a bone in my shoulder and my arm is in a sling. boo hiss!

if i must siphon, i will find a way but it sure would make things easier if i didn't have to.

It would really help if you could. All that cyano dieing is going to release a lot of nutrients. I wish i lived closer i would come siphon it for you.

i'll do what i can, left-handed. i won't be able to get it all but i can get the heaviest spots.

You will need to do a large water change anyways so just have that ready to go in case you cant get a lot of siphoning done.

yup, i have 2 big brute cans full of water all mixed up and ready to go. i plan to add the chemiclean tomorrow morning and do a big water change sunday morning.

that brings me to another question...my dt is 75g. i have a 35g sump. i have about 90# of live rock in my dt and my sump/fuge is pretty full of rock, too. is there a good way to estimate the amount of gallons i'll be treating or do i just go with 110g total volume?
