Are the Blue Brute Trash Can reefsafe?

I know the grey ones are, I ordered a blue one without even thinking abou it. Did a search later and one person said only the grey, white, and yellow were food safe back in 2008. Anyone know if the blue brutes are food/reefsafe?

I'm guessing the blue Brutes are just as safe as the others as I believe they're made from the same plastic. But there are actually a lot of food safe plastics, but the best are normally #2 (HDPE - high density polyethylene) and #5 (polypropylene). So if it's not the same but is one of the above (but really, most other plastics are fine as well), you're probably ok.

well I was able to cancel and going to order the grey ones instead. Not sure if that guy was correct in that post about only the grey, white, yellow being the only food safe trash cans, but figured not to chance it.

yeah I would agree with you on that. Just didn't want to spend money on a chance of it leaching, even if its the same plastic but the only difference is adding color. Just got paranoid looking through the water mixing stations and not seeing any blue brutes.

All of them are safe except the thin green ones.
