Feeding a Starry Blenny in Quarantine

Hi all, I was wondering if it's OK to take some of the live rock from my DT to put into my QT for the Starry Blenny I picked up a few days ago (which doesn't seem to be eating).

I've tried frozen Mysis shrimp and Spirulina flakes with no luck. My live rock has some algae growing on it which I'm hoping the blenny would take a liking to.

I transfer rock back and forth when treating anemones in myhospital tank.

I don't think it would be a problem.
Once they start eating prepared foods they are absolute pigs.

Good luck.

Just consider that rock quarantined right along with the fish. Pick a holey one. They love to hide.

Great!! Thanks very much for the advice. I hope this one gets eating soon. It's been three days since it arrived.

I have a algae blenny (jeweled version from what I hear?) anyways, he has yet to eat anything prepared but grazes all day long on the algae in the tank, I do not clean it off the back glass for him and my parrotfish to graze on, they are both fat and happy as ever (although my parrot eats anything I put in so that helps). Ive had the blenny for 5 months =)

Quick update. Put some algae covered live rock from my DT into the QT. Now the algae is gone! (so it's eating it). Maybe I can throw some seaweed into the tank or something... otherwise I'm going to eventually transfer ALL of my rock into QT!

Most will eat flake food, so get an algae based flake food or you can feed it sheets of Nori if he will eat it.

My starry blenny ( Kenny ) is a complete pig. They will eat anything.....and they LOVE nori!

Are you sure you don't have a lawn mower blenny? They are very finicky. Starry blennies will devor anything you give them like gluttons.
