Shrimp moults - remove or no?
My heart sank a little when I saw this, until I realized it was just a moult. A little slow as my daily dose of caffeine hadn't quite soaked in yet.
What does everyone do when they see this? Just let it break apart and hope some of the elements make their way back into the water? Or pull it out?

If the molt is easy to reach, I'll remove it.. It's not really going to do anything to your tank one way or the other though.

I leave shrimp molts in the tank. The fish might eat it and get some nutrients, the shrimp often eat the molt to regain calcium, and at worst it decays and the calcium goes back nito the water.

Just leave it in and it will be fine but just take it out of your powerhead to prevent anything from happening
