Sizing UPS

I'm sure it's a dumb question but I don't know how-

How do you size a UPS for your system?

Here is a calculator. You will quickly find that a ups will only provide a very short backup time. To back up just an 80watt return pump for an hour is about a $200 ups.

Ohhhhh. Well, that's not such a huge help. Why do people sound like they rely on them? Lack of understanding? Idk that a UPS will help you 'save' your reef tank before it 'shuts down' like a computer. Lol.

I'd set just 1 power head on the ups just to keep some current flow in the tank and possibly the heater. Lack of circulation and cold is what will kill your tank. Depending on the size and amount invested in your tank, I'd look into getting a portable or a whole house generator.
