ATB Skimmer for 450 FOWLR

I had thought I was set on MRC Orca II, but the guy that is building my tanks and sumps really wants me to consider doing an in sump skimmer thus I'm looking at ATB.....I sent an email to ATB USA, but almost a week with no response (which is a bit concerning).

I would think I'm looking at either the 10.5 Deluxe, or the 1260??? Any thoughts from someone knowledgeable on ATB are appreciated.

1260 is a beast of a skimmer. Runs an askoll pump that's rock solid and very quiet. Very well balanced and it would definitely handle your fowler. Atb is a personal favorite of mine. I wouldn't even worry about their customer service right now... They seem to be going through some issues but don't let that steer you away from an awesome skimmer. That pump is readily available under the laguna name and the internals are very durable. Btw an aquamaxx cone 6 would flip the bill also. Not as nice as the atb but darn near. Cheaper on the wallet also. Sicce shark pump that's very obtainable if needed and also a very balanced unit. Jus a fyi

+1 for ATB.. They just transitioned the website over so it's possible that the email link isn't working. I know the new owner of ATB personally and he is determined to provide great service and support. I will let him know there may be an issue so he can follow up.

Hello Kirk,

Slief sent me a link to your thread. I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. Last week was crazy leading up to Reefapalooza. I sent you the letter below on the 27th but I'm betting it went to your junk mail folder. Please let me know if there's anything I can help you with. I included my phone number in my signature below.

Sincerely,
Chad

Hi There!

I apologize for not getting back to you right away. I was at Reefapalooza in Costa Mesa, CA.

I personally prefer the 1260 for its simplicity.

We have both in stock and can ship right away.

Is atb a US company now? Even if it isn't this news of a new owner and the fact that he responded to this thread is awesome!
