Build My LED on 29 gallon.
Hello,
I'm currently looking at the Build My Led 30" XHO 20,000k light fixture and I was wondering if the PAR rating would be high enough to keep Zoa at the bottom, LPS in the middle and low-light SPS toward the top of my tank. My tank is 18" deep but with the sand bed more like 16". I'm looking at the 90 degree angle. The Par readings are at the bottom of the page in the link. http://www.buildmyled.com/20000k-ree...rum-xb-series/ 540-400 at 3" ---SPS 200-315 at 6" ----LPS 150 at 12" ---LPS + ZOA 115 at 18" ZOA +MUSHROOM This is the par levels and the corals I would keep at each level. If the PAR ratings are not high enough I think Im going to go with 4x T5s. Let me know |

I am going with a 12k XB on a 20 gallon and using the manual dimmer to lower the output. Since I already have two regular output LEDs on my 300, I know the XB LED will grow Sps with softies and Lps on the bottom

Your par rating are more then okay. I haven't seen a zoanthid or mushroom that needs 100+ par and I'm growing acros right now at around 100 par. Be sure to acclimate slowly.

Thank you, I guess I will get the XB 20,000k. I wonder if the original series would be enough for my needs, but I might as well spend the extra 40$ to get the XB series. What do you think?

20k is only xb series. You will have no problem growing sps near the top. I would go for it, I love mine.
